Venue
The congress venue will be at the “Centro Convegni Sant’Agostino” (Via Guelfa, 40, 52044 Cortona AR).
The Sant’Agostino complex, consisting of the church and the adjoining convent, is considered one of the oldest religious complexes in the city of Cortona.

How to get there
From Florence “Amerigo Vespucci” Airport (FLR)
You can reach Cortona by train from Florence Santa Maria Novella (SMN) station.
From Florence Airport, take the Tram T2 to Florence SMN train station (approximately 20 minutes).
From Florence SMN, take a regional train to Camucia–Cortona.
The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, with trains running regularly throughout the day.
Train tickets can be purchased at automatic machines or ticket offices at Florence SMN station.

From Camucia–Cortona station, Cortona city center can be reached by local bus, taxi, or funicular.
From Camucia–Cortona train station
Cortona historic center is located on a hill above the station.
You can reach the city center by:

Funicular (from Camucia to Cortona Piazza Garibaldi)
From Piazza Garibaldi, the Sant’Agostino Conference Center is within walking distance.
By Car
Cortona can be reached via the A1 motorway (Valdichiana exit).
Parking
Several public parking areas are available within walking distance of the Sant’Agostino Conference Center.
Parcheggio Mercato / Free Parking
Located just outside the city walls, this is one of the most convenient parking areas for accessing the historic center.
Walking distance to Sant’Agostino: 10–15 minutes
Free parking (subject to availability)
Parcheggio Giardini del Parterre
A large parking area close to the historic center, suitable for short- and long-term stays.
Walking distance to Sant’Agostino: 10 minutes
Approximate cost: 1.50–2.00 € per hour
Daily rates available (approximately 10–15 € per day)
Other public parking areas
Additional paid parking spaces are available around the city walls and near the main access points to the historic center.
Please note that the historic center of Cortona is a limited traffic zone (ZTL).
Access by car is restricted, and the conference venue must be reached on foot from the parking areas.

Registration is now open and the deadline is April 15.
Important notes:
Attendance at the conference is free of charge but registration is required.
Lunch and dinner fees, if selected at registration, must be paid by bank transfer.
Receipt will be sent by email after payment is cleared.
Please remind that SIMGBM is a no profit scientific Society and has no VAT number but only Tax ID number (Codice Fiscale). SIMGBM will issue receipts and not invoices.

Abstracts
ABSTRACTS ARE ACCEPTED EXCLUSIVELY DURING ONLINE REGISTRATION.
During the registration procedure the authors presenting an abstract will be invited to select their preference for an oral or a poster presentation.
Each research group (led by a SIMGBM member holding a permanent position) can present a maximum of one oral communication and one poster.
Oral presentations (in English) are reserved for second and third year PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and RTD-A researchers.
Undergraduate students and first-year PhD students, will have the opportunity to present a poster and, subject to time availability, to give a flash communication to introduce the topic of their poster.
Abstracts

Posters
Poster size is 70 x 100 cm (width x height).
A template including the logos of the organizations that supported the conference will be provided by email after May 1.
Posters will be displayed throughout the conference. Further details on poster sessions will be available in the final program (after April 15).
Welcome reception, Lunches
& Social Dinner
A welcome reception will be offered to all participants on June 17, at 7 pm.
Lunch will be available at the congress venue on June 17, 18 and 19 at a cost of € 19 per lunch.
The social Dinner will take place on June 18 at 8:30 pm at Sant’Agostino complex at a cost of € 43.
During the online registration, Participants are kindly requested to indicate whether they will attend the welcome cocktail, the lunches and the social dinner, as well as any specific dietary requirements.
Hotel Information
Cortona is a popular tourist destination and hosts numerous cultural events throughout the year. For these reasons we strongly suggest booking a hotel in advance.
